About This Role

Summary of the role
Support, and where necessary deputise for, the Data Protection Manager & Data Protection Officer in leading the EMT, employees/contractors and data processors in the delivery of services compliant the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act (20I8).

This role can be based in either Reading, Peterborough, or Basingstoke DG offices.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support Data Protection Manager with routine interactions with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and where appropriate, in relation to breaches which potentially expose Diligenta, and/or its clients to public censure.
  • Support the Data Protection Manager with managing the relationship with client Data Protection teams. Attend senior client forums to provide assurance on the systems and controls protecting their customer data.
  • Manage the team of Data Protection Specialists, developing them to their full potential and ensuring complaint advice and support is provided to the business.
  • Support the due diligence of new 3rd party suppliers in relation to data protection provisions and ongoing monitoring of systems and controls in place to protect employee and customer data.
  • Promote corporate policy in relation to privacy overseeing business adherence to their requirements.
  • Prepare and circulate Data Protection MI within Diligenta and to clients to support assurance requirements to implement and maintain DP owned policies and procedures and controls across Diligenta.
  • Provide training, advice & guidance to senior management and staff as necessary.
  • Oversee the advice to the business on the carrying out of a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) legislated for by the GDPR and DPA. Monitor business compliance.
  • Supervise the provision of DP MI and trend analysis to the EMT, senior corporate committees, and clients.
  • Where relevant actively support the delivery of GDPR compliant Migrations to BaNCS. Advise the migration programmes and clients accordingly.

  • A credible influencer of senior management, able to propose and implement compliant solutions with the required level of personal impact.
  • Able to represent their function at corporate committee level project meetings, forums, other committees and in other general meetings with both clients and internally
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Sound technical generic knowledge of the ICO and FCA requirements
  • Sound knowledge of business processes, financial products and requirements for relevant business units(s)
  • Experience of working in a project environment or project management
  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Proactive, communicative, pragmatic and methodical approach
