About This Role

Summary of the role

Support the Programme Manager or Senior Programme Office Manager by driving forward a broad range of initiatives in line with governance standards, chiefly providing analysis and presentation of a wide range of complex Project and Programme data - often coordinating a core governance function - and working in partnership with the delivery community.

This role can be based in Peterborough or Bristol.

What you’ll be doing
  • Actively contribute to the maintenance of New Business, Transition & Transformation Programme governance and standards within the Project or Programme Office through ensuring accuracy of data and reported MI
  • Design and/or manage governance processes to assure the effective application of Project or Programme governance including; planning, change control, risk and issue management, dependencies, resource management, work order engagement and budget control, etc.
  • As a member of the PMO Family, contribute to the setting and maintenance of best practice standards for Project or Programme Office Management or support within Strategy and Growth
  • Enable and analyse regular monitoring of each Project or Programme against agreed measures and produce recommendations for action to improve data quality and delivery
  • Build and maintain effective partnership relationships within the Project or Programme to support effective delivery
  • Monitor and co-ordinate control of Project or Programme budget and reporting and ensure timely provision of accurate and meaningful MI, highlighting issues for escalation
  • Support relevant Programme management to create and assure the timely and accurate production of non-resource and resource plans so as to identify relevant skills, knowledge and experience requirements
  • Creation, maintenance and quality assurance of Workstream/Release/Programme Plans and production of reporting artefacts such as ‘Plans on a Page’
  • Management of direct reports including performance management, career development, recruitment succession planning, communication and other related activities
  • Deputising for the Project or Programme Office Manager in their absence
  
What we’re looking for
  • Appropriate Project Management and/or Project/Programme Office e.g. APMP, ISEB at a foundation level
  • Strong written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong people and team management skills
  • Strong quality and delivery focus
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills and ability to build productive working relationships
  • Proven ability to analyse a broad range of management information, identify recommendation actions and develop reports that drive improvement
  • Excellent working knowledge of Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Excel with an ability to create and manage medium complexity spreadsheet solutions
  • Previous experience as a Project Office Analyst
  • Previous experience in a commercial, administrative or industrial environment with previous experience in Programme / Project environment
  • “Customer service” focus with emphasis on support and delivery
